Cannabutter
Before beginning, purchase the following:
1.5 quart slow cooker.
Stainless steel reusable coffee filter.
Silicon butter mold tray.
Parchment paper.
1 pound or 4 sticks of unsalted butter.
1 ounce of the good stuff.
Decarboxylate the weed
This first step is needed to activate the potential THC in the flower, by turning the THCA into THC.
Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 220° fahrenheit.
Grind your ounce of weed and spread it evenly over a parchment paper-lined baking tray.
Put the tray in the oven for 30 minutes.
Infuse the butter
Put 4 sticks of butter in your slow cooker and set it on the lowest cook setting.
Once the butter is fully melted and the weed is finished decarbing, pour the activated weed into the stainless steel coffee filter. Put the filled coffee filter into the slow cooker, making sure the weed is fully submerged in the butter.
Let it infuse for about 3 hours, making sure to stir it every 20 to 30 minutes.
Mold the finished butter
Once the infusion process is finished, slowly lift the coffee filter out of the slow cooker. You can press on the soaked weed with a spoon to get every drop of butter out of the coffee filter.
Use something to scoop and pour the melted butter into the silicon butter mold tray. Personally I make 3 mega sized sticks of butter instead of 4 because you lose some butter from whatever you couldn't press out of the spent weed. I bake with more butter than the recommended usually anyway.
Put the butter tray in the fridge to solidify and that's all folks.
